The MongoDB Database Platform team’s goal is to empower our database server product with the observability, resilience, and platform support that our customers expect and our competitors fail to deliver. We succeed when our customers have predictable and consistent system behavior across the most common platforms used in enterprise and community development.  

We imbue the core server product with foundational resource management and operational resilience - enabling our system (and peer development teams) to manage massive scale on disk, memory, network and CPU by governing its use in a predictable and efficient way. We research, partner, and enable support for the most valuable operating systems, architectures and distribution channels. These system capabilities enable our customers to push the server in any environment, without putting their key workloads, or even the integrity of the system, at risk. 

We are looking for an exceptional product management leader to come join our team and take on a key role in our Core Database product organization. This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is leading innovation in a $60B+ market. The team leads product direction, packaging, and pricing for the fastest growing database technology. 

This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will be responsible for leading the MongoDB Platform and Service Architecture product team
• Drive product vision, strategy and roadmap and collaborate with product teams to compile backlog based on customer needs, market data, and competitive intelligence
• Deeply understand all aspects of the business - to ensure a business outcome aligned with our broader product, customer and company needs
• Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition and technologies are evolving, and factor competitive information and customer feedback into our product direction
• Collaborate with product marketing, support and sales to solve for business limiters within your control and pursue key business accelerants
• Requirements
• 5+ years experience in product management or technical product management role in enterprise software technology industry; bonus if those were database, analytics or log management products
• Skills to effectively communicate product strategy to all of the relevant stakeholders; ability to translate technology features into business benefits
• Results-proven experience working with or implementing product management best practices such as design thinking and lean startup in industry-leading enterprise software companies
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present to large audiences (e.g. MongoDB World)
• Strong team skills and experience to bring together diverse views, can-do attitude, optimism, humility, willingness to embrace the unknown
• Leadership experience in building and retaining strong and diverse teams is a plus
• Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Marketing or related field, plus MBA or equivalent advanced degree
