Airbnb is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to help build global insurance products, and drive world-class user experiences for Airbnb stakeholders.

The Insurance Platform team serves as a platform and center of excellence addressing the protection needs of our Airbnb community. We help our host and guest communities manage risk with one-of-a-kind protection programs unmatched in the travel industry. Your Responsibilities

• Be accountable for the products, tools, and technology that empower our Insurance Platform team.
• Collaborate with the cross-functional leadership team to develop a roadmap and key metrics for executing the Insurance Platform product strategy.
• Develop trusted partnerships with business, product, and engineering leaders to align critical initiatives. 
• Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics and drive continuous operational improvements.
• Determine hiring needs to execute against product roadmap and scale the engineering team, driving a recruiting strategy from your network, the team's network, and the recruiting team
• Mentor and coach engineers and create growth opportunities for your team members.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
• 8+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast paced, high growth tech environment.
• Experience with leading product engineering teams building customer-facing products, A/B testing frameworks, and incident management.
• Actively recruited, coached and mentored team members in their careers.
• Proven track record successfully collaborating with cross-functional peers in Product Management, Design, Project Management, QA, Finance, Legal, Business Operations, and/or Compliance
• Consistently made culture choices that positively impact all of engineering.
• Experience with server-driven UI architectures is a big plus.

The starting base pay for this role is between $190,000 and $245,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
