The Applied AI team is focused on continuously deploying advanced AI systems into the world. 

Tens of thousands of developers are already taking advantage of powerful AI models through our platform. By opening access to our AI models via an easy-to-use API, we are helping developers find creative ways to apply AI to a large number of useful applications.

In April 2022, we introduced DALL-E 2, AI that creates images from text. In 2021, we launched  Copilot, powered by Codex, in partnership with GitHub – and developers love it. In 2020 we introduced GPT-3 which the MIT Technology Review listed as one of its 10 Breakthrough Technologies of the year (alongside mRNA vaccines).

We’re a small, kind team that is shipping ambitious products (and having a lot of fun).

About the Role

We are looking for a Developer Advocate to help us deliver the best product possible for developers as we continue to scale.

You’ll work directly with developers to understand what they want from the product and how we can help them be successful. Together with the product development team, you’ll help deliver large and small improvements that make it easier for developers to find success with our API.

You’ll help build a community of developers that provide early feedback on new products and help us ensure we’re meeting the needs of users.

In this role, you will: 

  • Work directly with developers on a daily basis to gain key insights and feedback on their needs and what they require to be successful with our product.
  • Be a tireless champion for developers and their needs. 
  • Create helpful content for developers, from writing code samples to documentation, example apps to contributing to the development of dev tools.
  • Build relationships with key developers and help nurture a community of developers on our platform.
  • Provide feedback to our research teams about developer needs and experiences with the products

We’re looking for a blend of:

  • Experience helping developers find success with highly technical products, especially if it was an API-based product.
  • Deep user empathy and an understanding of what’s required for a product experience to be great and an appreciation that the details matter.
  • A history of creating documentation, how-to content, and code that help developers find success with technical products.
  • An ability to write high-quality and easy to read code.
  • Curiosity, determination, and kindness.
