What Notion is looking for in applicants

About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

About The Role:

We’re in the early stages of forming our communications strategy and team, and so this role is perfect for someone who is excited by building. We have some incredible stories to tell - our passionate community, how we’re building our business, and our place in the history (and future) of computing. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how we tell those stories, build new channels, develop thought leadership platforms, and directly support our mission to make software toolmaking ubiquitous.

What You'll Achieve:

As head of corporate communications, you’ll be shaping Notion’s reputation at a crucial stage of our company’s history. You’ll oversee corporate, executive, and policy communications, working closely with our executives to tell Notion’s story and help build us into a household name. You’ll also own our talent / employer brand. We’re a small and scrappy team, so you’ll be leading both proactive storytelling and reactive crisis planning and issues management.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

You’ll be an experienced comms professional who draws energy from working across both proactive and reactive spaces. You’ll be a true cross functional collaborator who’s not tied to org charts and loves digging up the best stories and strategizing on the most powerful way to tell them. You’ll have ten years of experience in communications, love to write, strong at media relations, and an appreciation for new ways of reaching audiences including through social media, podcasts, creators and influencers.

Nice to Haves:

  • You’re a Notion power user

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Notion.
