About the role

The Restaurant Engineering team is responsible for serving the needs of OpenTable's restaurant customers by providing groundbreaking software tools that enable restaurant staff, general managers, and owners to optimally and efficiently manage their business. 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about software development and solving tough problems. The role is a rough 80/20 split between front end and back end.

You will work closely with a dedicated team of product and design partners and take an iterative approach to feature development, small slicing, and incremental delivery. You will help us improve our processes and platform to best suit the constantly evolving needs of our customers and the restaurant industry as a whole.

About you

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and React/Redux
• A high familiarity with Node.js and a server framework like Express
• Knowledge of async design patterns, data structures, and OO design
• A solid understanding of modern CSS and HTML5
• A passion for developing quality software backed by unit tests
• High emotional intelligence, with strong communication and collaboration skills
• A thirst for learning and embarking on new challenges

To truly blow us away you might also have:

• Angular (so we can retire some loose ends)

• Java and/or C#
