Senior Product Analyst | Remotely from Amsterdam
We are looking for someone who can educate our product managers and engineers on best practices for instrumentation, metrics, and insights, and encourage a data-driven culture within the organisation to foster accountability and decision making.
You will be close to the customer: understanding their activity and needs; their pain points. Balance technical skills, communication and business. Be at the cradle of new products and bring existing products to the next level of data maturity.
You will be part of the Product Analytics team, working closely with the wider Product and Engineering organisation to enable the design and implementation of highly available and scalable solutions.
What you’ll do
- Have a deep understanding of MessageBird’s products and the wide variety of data they produce and proactively identify opportunities for improving the overall user experience;
- Conduct exploratory analysis to get a better understanding of trends and anomalies. Work towards automated solutions for returning requests;
- Present your findings and recommendations to the wider team and company leads and champion the use of data to make product decisions;
- Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to help define clear, trustworthy, optimized data sources of truth by understanding the business logic and anomalies.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of professional work experience analyzing product or user behavior, in a product team, preferably at a software or technology company;
- Proficient in SQL (preferably using a big data syntax such as BigQuery, Presto, or Hive/Spark) and understanding of optimizing query performance;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, experience working with data visualization tools;
- Comfort handling massive datasets and connecting the dots between disparate sources;
- Strong mindset towards data quality, in all stages of the product and analyses;
- Understanding how to prevent data quality issues;
- Problem-solving and analytical skills - able to quickly digest any issue or problem;
- A drive to improve MessageBird’s products and proactively identifying ways to bring value;
- Familiarity with experimentation and basic statistical methods;
- An understanding of best practices for data warehouse concepts and data models.
