The role: Business Development Director - India | Remote from India

MessageBird is looking for an Email Sales Overlay to develop and support the growth of Email solutions with high-value prospects and customers. In this role, you will be working with the local sales team, providing Email specialist expertise to ensure we successfully navigate through the sales process to close new opportunities.   

Your hunting ground will be India. You’ll report to the Country Manager - India and work in close partnership with Sales Development, Product Management, Customer Support/Success, Marketing, Legal and Finance.

What you’ll do

  • Develop the strategic plan in India to ensure MessageBird maximizes growth across  Email solutions
  • Work with the local Sales team through the full sales cycle to win and grow Email focused revenue
  • Partner with the International Email team to ensure close alignment with Global goals for Email
  • Evaluate and present local market product needs to support growth of Email
  • Own accurate forecasts for Email across the Indian market 
  • Supporting new customer acquisition to drive new revenue. Employing a solution-selling methodology to facilitate customer evaluations and to help them understand MessageBird’s unique differentiation with Email.
  • Utilizes industry and strategic knowledge to help execute large, complex, strategic, business changing deals.
  • Leverages an established network of references to win credibility
  • Leads some projects or programs within a function
  • Operations to design mutually beneficial contracts to address customer requirements and balance the needs of our business
  • Make our customers successful!

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of experience in selling Email and Email Solutions
  • Experience in working with C-suite executives
  • Track record of selling and closing complex technical solutions to enterprises and managing RFP’s
  • Strong experience in both the direct and partner channels are strongly desired
  • Fearless and a ruthless focus on execution.
  • Strong working understanding of India Technology Landscape. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise and the ability to leverage those contacts
  • Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team to deliver new business
  • Experience selling communications to a technical and business audience, building trust and mutual respect with technical customers and peers
