Vanta’s product monitors the security posture for thousands of companies. We make hundreds of millions of API calls per day and hundreds of thousands of laptop agents send us data every hour. We run tests against this data continuously to identify potential security threats and ensure that our customers are always following best practices. Our infrastructure and tooling needs to stay ahead of exponential growth in our customer base. As a Senior Software Engineer at Vanta, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction to enable our infrastructure to scale with our business, driving complex projects across our technical stack, and mentoring our talented engineering team. Your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth.

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer, Platform at Vanta:

Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to enable our business and team to scale.
Set direction for critical infrastructure, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth.
Design, develop, and own new product functionality and/or infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React, Node.js, Golang). Prior experience with these technologies is not necessary!
Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it.
Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow.

How to be successful in this role:

Have an interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space.
Have played technical leadership roles for teams or complex projects.
Have experience with complex infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, or performance.
Have experience building and maintaining processes and tooling for fellow developers.

About Vanta

We started Vanta in 2016 as Equifax had lost every American's social security number, Home Depot had leaked its customers' credit card numbers to hackers, and Facebook admitted that it irresponsibly sent user data to third parties who tried to influence the US election. It was clear that security and privacy had become mainstream issues, and that we all increasingly relied on cloud services to store everything from our personal photos to our communications at work.
