Senior Database Engineer | Remotely from EMEA
Database Engineers play a key part in the Engineering team. You will be working closely with the wider team to design and implement highly available and scalable database solutions, whilst also ensuring sufficient monitoring and alerting solutions are implemented and maintained.
What You’ll Do
- Scale and automate database infrastructure with a focus on the performance, availability, reliability and growth needs of the company
- Improve and optimize database administration and management with coding and automation
- Provide support and an escalation path to development teams around the usage and performance of their database systems
- Enable the development teams to provision automatically database infrastructure that allows release & deployments to take place without any hassle
- Ensure appropriate availability, reliability, and scalability of the database infrastructure
- Help teams in keeping their production infrastructure up-to-date, secure and running
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience scaling and automating MySQL databases
- Experience with replication, failover and disaster recovery in a globally distributed environment
- You understand scalability challenges and performance of a distributed database infrastructure
- You can design and develop horizontally-scalable, resilient and efficient systems.
- Experience in cloud deployments, containers (Kubernetes is a bonus), configuration management and/or infrastructure automation.
- Proficiency in Linux and in at least one scripting language
