About the Role

Twitch Security is looking for a Software Engineer to join our new Security Data Platform group. The team develops and operates the security data platform that enables the Security organization to make data-driven decisions.

Reporting to the Manager of the Security Data Platform team, you will lead the team responsible for building our data warehouse, pipelines, and data catalog. You'll abstract away the details of managing diverse and large datasets in a big data environment and allow the Security organization to easily access and analyze our data. Your team will contribute to the strategy and execution of every Security initiative across the company. If you think that you're interested, and that you may be qualified, please contact us. You Will:

• Be an engineering voice, advising and driving the team's technical strategy.
• Lead technical architecture discussions and help guide technical decisions within the team.
• Architect, design, and implement high-quality data infrastructure systems with a focus on availability, resilience, and durability.
• Build the frameworks and tools that empower Twitch Security to access data including our data warehouse, ETL pipelines, and data catalog.
• Partner with peer security teams and engineering leaders across the company to guide essential security programs.
• Review code to ensure it is high quality, efficient, well-tested, and documented.
• Take vague requirements and crystallize them into scalable data solutions

You Have:

• Passion for security and data and desire to develop tools and infrastructure from ground up.
• 5+ Years experience engineering data pipelines using big data tools and frameworks such as Airflow, Spark, Hadoop, Presto, and Hive.
• Proficient in schema design, data modeling and writing complex SQL queries.
• Proficient in at least one of Python, R, TypeScript, or Go.

Bonus Points

• Familiar with Data warehousing and ETL pipelines technologies in AWS
• Familiarity with the data lifecycle and concepts such as lineage, governance, privacy, anonymity.
• Familiarity and experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, AWS Neptune and query languages such as Gremlin.
• Excited about learning new technologies and frameworks

The pay range for this position in Colorado and Connecticut is $ 140,400 - $200,000 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and CT House Bill Number 6380. Base pay information is based on market location.
