About the Role

The Tax Lead will build and drive our global tax strategy, operations, and compliance. We are looking for a Tax professional who wants to build a world-class tax function at a high-growth SaaS company.

What You'll Achieve:

• You will be a senior individual contributor to start but will have the opportunity to build and manage a diverse and inclusive team over time
• Design our global tax strategy to support our domestic and international growth
• Build our global tax processes and drive ongoing improvements, focusing on compliance, efficiency, and automation
• Manage external tax resources to ensure global direct and indirect tax compliance
• Manage our global income tax provision ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Proactively identify tax issues and changes, providing ongoing advice and guidance concerning global tax accounting and reporting
• Design and manage our transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements
• Bring a tax perspective to Notion's strategic initiatives

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

• A combination of 8+ years of experience working in public accounting and at high-growth, international SaaS companies
• Deep knowledge of Federal, State and Local, International and Indirect taxes
• Ability to research new tax issues, develop a opinion, quantify the impact, and clearly and concisely make recommendations to the leadership team
• Partner with business systems experts to ensure we are building systems that comply with global tax requirements and support our global tax strategy
• Independent and strategic thought combined with excellent team player qualities (no job is too small or too large) and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities

Nice to Haves:

• CPA
• Strong Excel skills, ability to navigate and manipulate large datasets
• Experience with Avalara or other sales tax software
