About The Role: 

Robinhood is looking for a skilled Tax Ops [associate/manager] to join our rapidly growing team. We are seeking driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities – a self-starter who can work independently but who is also a good team-player. This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Tax Information Reporting and Withholding. As a member of our tax operations team, you will work closely with our tax and operations teams to support our tax information reporting and compliance efforts related to the purchase and sale of equities, options, and crypto.

This position is a Remote role.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Collaborate with our product, project, and engineering teams to launch, improve and scale Robinhood products and systems as well as to manage the workflows for Tax Ops requirements on new and ongoing projects
• Contribute to and track various tax related projects such as new product launches and promotions as well as coordinate a tax calendar during tax season
• Partner with Robinhood’s tax, operations and customer service teams as a subject matter expert providing technical advice on areas such as withholding, cost basis and information reporting, including Crypto and IRA reporting. 
• Develop and assist with the implementation of reconciliations of data between internal systems and vendors, reconciliations of data between cost basis and reporting vendors, as well as verification of data being sent from the tax reporting vendor to IRS.
• Work on executing various exception reports covering areas such as reporting, withholding and cost basis, while implementing internal policies and procedures
• Work on building and maintaining dashboards for metrics and checklists to manage and change workflows and queries to improve team functions as well as to improve customer experience and communications
• Work with various Robinhood entities and departments to streamline data flow and processes as well as automate processes where possible.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
• 5+ years of tax information reporting experience with a financial services firm, public accounting firm, law firm, and/or corporate tax department
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of tax information reporting rules, including the areas such as FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3, and Chapter 61 of the Internal Revenue Code
• High attention to detail and can manage and drive projects to completion in a deadline driven environment
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Bonus points:

• Financial Services and/or Crypto experience Preferred
• Prior relationships with tax reporting and cost basis vendors
• Previous Tax Ops experience working at a Fintech company
• Prior expertise with tools such as SQL, Alteryx, etc.
• Previous experience managing tax projects and/or new product launches
• Proficiency in working with large datasets, data mining, conversions, and sourcing
